Mechanic’s Bank is putting the finishing touches on an 89-hundred square foot addition to the downtown headquarters. Over the past few years, Mechanic’s acquired the space that extends from the current bank, down to Uncle John’s Restaurant. Bank President, Deborah Schenk, while giving a tour to WMAN’s Rusty Cates, said it simply made since to invest in downtown, where Mechanic’s began 128 years ago.
The impressive renovation preserved much of the original structure, including exposed bricks. New additions include an indoor streetscape complete with park benches and lampposts, referred to as “The Mechanics Way”. When the addition opens in early June it will host The “Good Life” office, commercial residential, and consumer loan offices, significant social space, and outdoor patio with a waterfall.
